Wedge Wire Reactor Internals Custom Design
Wedge Wire Reactor Internals Custom Design
Blog Article
Wedge wire reactor internals are specialized stainless steel components, typically in grades 304 or 316. They are crafted with precision to provide support, distribution, and separation functions within reactors.
These reactor internals include support grids, liquid distribution systems, radial flow scallops, reactor inner screens, and catalyst support screens, all designed to handle the rigorous demands of industrial reactors.
- Wedge Wire Scallop, Vee Wire Scallop
The wedge wire scallops are designed for radial flow reactors. The scallops are used to distribute or collect the flow. They are positioned on a support ring attached to the vessel wall, each placed adjacent to the next as part of the scallop set.
The radial flow scallops are widely used for Gas treatment, Platforming, reforming, CCR, ammonia converter, styrene, etc.
- Radial Flow Reactor Center Pipe, Inner Screen
The radial flow reactor center pipes, also known as inner screens, are manufactured with wedge wires. This allows the gas and liquid flow in the reactors smooth and efficient. Normally, the center pipe can be installed through the manhole at the top of the vessel. It is installed at the center of the radial flow reactor, with its bottom connected to the outlet of the reactor.
Applications: Platforming, Reforming, Ammonia synthesis
- Catalyst Support Grid
We provide wedge wire catalyst support grids for downflow reactors. Support grids are designed to be installed in the bottom header of a hydroprocessing or gas dehydration vessel to allow for better liquid and gas flow, bed utilization, distribution, and an overall more efficient process.
Key Features of Wedge Wire Reactor Internals
▪ High-Precision Design: Vee-shaped wire design prevents clogging and ensures uniform flow distribution. This anti-clogging property is critical in maintaining efficiency in catalytic reactors and packed bed systems.
▪ Durability and Corrosion Resistance: Manufactured from stainless steel, these components resist corrosion, even in high-temperature and chemically aggressive environments.
▪ Customizable Solutions: Industries benefit from tailored wedge wire reactor internals that meet specific requirements, such as slotted screens for fixed bed reactors or liquid and gas distribution systems for hydrocarbon processing.
Material and Design Options
▪ Material Selection: Stainless steel 304 and 316 are commonly used due to their strength and corrosion resistance. For specialized applications, additional alloys may be considered.
▪ Custom Configurations: Options include perforated screens, slotted grids, and mesh plates, designed to suit the unique demands of industries such as oil and gas or food and beverage processing.
We can custom design various wedge wire reactor internals for petrochemical and refining industries.
